Product Description
Type lever fill fountain pen
Product Name Capitol Cabinet
Manufacturer and Year Aikin Lambert, USA -- 1910s or 20s, it does match the Cabinet in the 1918 catalog.
Length 5-7/16" and slender.
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the bladder and it works very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with metal trim.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE 14k marked "14kt A.L.Co. USA" It has a rectangular feed and writes with nice smooth line variation. Very good every day flex, one step up in our estimation from semi-flex. There's a spot of pitting on the left tine, but the nib should be fine unless you have a very steep writing angle coupled a heavy hand. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. Near perfect except for two very fine hairline cracks in the cap lip. The metal trim looks even and the chasing is strong on the cap and barrel. The pen has very little handwear with very few marks and a clear imprint. The coloring is very dark and the cap is only a little lighter than the barrel.
