Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition
Product Name All American (the body is marked, and it's fitted with an Endura nib).
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Toledo Ohio, 1920s-30s
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and it works great.
Color Lovely "Orange Flame" color finish, with swirls of more yellow and more red orange, gold plated trim, and black ends. The color appears more vibrant and light in person than it does in our photos.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Conklin Endura nib. It's a very large nib with good tipping, and a nice flex to it. Line variation is from a nice larger fine to broad plus. See our writing sample below. (Please note that usually these All American pens have Warranted nibs, even though they were made by Conklin. When we got the pen it had no nib, so we fitted it with a senior-size Conklin Endura nib, resulting in an an extremely nice pen.)
Condition Excellent condition. There's a a deep toolmark on the section, which looks like it might have been over-heated, though this does not affect the writing in the slightest. There are a few tiny indents in the cap, just left of the clip, but otherwise the pen only suffers from very light scratching here and there on the cap and barrel. Hardly a spot of brassing on the trim. no cracks, chips, or personalization. It's quite an eye catching pen, fully restored and working well.
