Product Description
Type Crescent filling vintage fountain pen in great condition with a nicely flexible nib.
Product Name Crescent, Model 25P (the imprint reads "Trade Mark 25 P" at the end of the barrel). The 2 is for the nib size. The 5 is for a slender pen and a P is for a short pen.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in USA -- early 1920s.
Length 4-3/8".
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold filled trim consisting of a ring top, crescent, and a 5/16" chased patterned cap overlay.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Conklin #2 Toledo gold nib is very smooth with nice tipping. The tines spread easily for line variation. The tipping makes the unflexed writing a bit on the fine-medium side, with flexed writing going to broad. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The color is a little faded and the chasing is worn. You can still see the chasing, but not feel it. The imprints are legible but also show some wear. No scratches. The locking mechanism can be a bit rough to start to move but is easy to use. It ships in a vintage Conklin box and is fully restored.
