Product Description
Type | 3 piece set comprised of fountain pen, ballpoint and mechanical pencil |
Product Name | This is the late version of the transitional J model ... "Esterbrook" is written on the clips and the fountain pen has a rounded top jewel. |
Manufacturer and Year | Esterbrook, USA, mid to late 1940s |
Length | Fountain pen is 4-15/16" and the other two writing instruments are a little shorter. |
Filling System | Fountain pen is a lever filler and the bladder has been replaced. The pencil takes .9mm lead. The ballpoint -- which is the rarest of the 3 pieces -- takes a refill that is sadly no longer being made. |
Color | Grey marbled with stainless steel trim. |
Nib | Fountain pen has a 2556 firm fine nib |
Condition | The set is in excellent condition, though the pencil and fountain pen show a little wear: the pencil has a few small melted spots on the cap and some tiny scratches on the barrel, and the fountain pen has a bit of microscratching. All told the three are in fairly impressive condition, they look great together. |
