Product Description
Type Squeeze filling vintage fountain pen, working well
Product Name Unknown, it's only marked Ramie.
Manufacturer and Year Ramie, a Hayashi MFG company, made in Japan -- probably from the 1950s.
Length Just under 4-3/4 inches.
Filling System Aerometric style squeeze filler. We've cleaned and tested it to ensure it's working very well.
Color A rich green color with a gold plated cap and clip and light blue cap jewel.
Nib FLEXIBLE EXTRA FINE nib marked Warranted Ramie 14kt Gold. It's smooth with lovely tipping material, and close to what we would call fully flexible with easy line variation from extra fine to a nice broad under only light pressure, and nice hairlines under a light touch. See our writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents or personalization. There's some wear in the gold plating, which seems rather poorly done, including scratches as well as spots where the plating has bubbled up slightly and is ready to flake off on the cap. There's some standard wear on the clip, as well as wear in the blue coloring of the cap jewel. There are only a few light scratches on the body of the pen, and some slight handwear apparent from the even fading in the imprint (which is still quite readable) The pen has been cleaned and tested and it's working very well.
