Product Description
Type vintage fountain pen.
Product Name Stud Filling fountain pen.
Manufacturer and Year Jaxon, made in USA (by Conklin) -- 1930s.
Length Just a hair over 5-1/4 inches.
Filling System Stud filling fountain pen. It is essentially a crescent filler with a button instead of a crescent. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber with a black coating over the metal parts.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Warranted #3 14k nib. It is smooth and offers nice variation. The nib has some annealing wear with the uppermost layer of the gold lifting in a small area. It keeps the surface of the nib from being smooth but isn't really a scratch and doesn't affect writing. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. Some of the black coating on the sliding metal piece has come off. Otherwise, the chasing is strong and textured. The barrel imprints are clear and the pen shows minimal wear. The black hard rubber is still very black. The locking mechanism for the stud moves easily but won't shift by accident. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
