Product Description
Type vintage lever filling fountain pen with a flexible nib.
Product Name Swan with an unknown number
Manufacturer and Year Mabie Todd & Co., New York -- 1930s
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black hard rubber with solid 15k overlay. Even the section is covered. There are hallmarks for each part of the gold except for the lever. The main pattern of the pen is lengthwise fine lines.
Nib SEMI-FLEXIBLE FINE 14k Swan #2 nib. It's very smooth with good tipping. It's got very good line variation. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. Because it is solid gold, there are a few dents of varying sizes on the pen. Most are very shallow and hard to notice. The only one that stands out is the one beneath the personalization. We have included a photograph of that dent and a smaller one further down. The personalization reads, "J. H. BURROWS, ESQ., J. P., C. A. / CHAIRMAN, SOUTHEND ON-SEA GAS COMPANY / 1915 - 1931." The pen is fully restored and working well.
