Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Model 149
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 1970s, the pen has what looks like a two section barrel from 1983 on but it has a solid ebonite feed and a three tone 14c nib from 1969-72.
Length 5-7/8"
Filling System Piston filler. It's been cleaned and tested and is working well.
Color Black barrel with gold plated trim.
Nib EXTRA FINE 14k Nib. The nib is a very springy "three"-tone 14C Montblanc 4810 nib. It's called three-tone because of the alternating colors. Some of the silver colored masking is coming off. The pen has a solid ebonite feed. These nibs generally run narrow so it's quite a slender writing line.
Condition Excellent condition with slight plating wear. The three cap bands look very good, though there is a small area of plating wear between the "No." and the "149." The pen has some handwear and a bit of masking wear on the nib. There is one very shallow scratch on the barrel about 3/4" long next to an even shallower shorter scratch. No cracks or dents on the pen. The plastic piston seal is clear without ink residue.
