Product Description
Type fountain pen
Product Name Reminiscence Series
Manufacturer and Year Montegrappa, Italy -- 1984-2001. The 1055VI hallmark indicates the pen was made in Venice during the Aquila ownership. The model was introduced in 1983 and switched from ebonite to sterling sections in 1984.
Length 5-1/16" and quite stout. (We understand there was a short version of the pen that was 4-1/2" long).
Filling System International cartridges, and the pen comes with a converter.
Color Faceted vermeil with a Greek key design. It is hallmarked 925 for the sterling beneath the gold plating. The end of the barrel is threaded for posting.
Nib 18k 750 rhodium partially masked medium-fine cursive italic nib. It started as a broad, and is labeled B, but was cut down. It writes really close to a fine with nice line variation. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition with no dents, dings or cracks. The gold plating is a bit thin in some spots, especially on the blank cartouche portion of the cap, so there's a suggestion of the sterling silver underneath peeking thru. You can see this in the photos below. The pen has some light handwear. Ships with box, pen sleeve, and paperwork.
