Eagle

Eagle Pencil Co. was a big innovator in the pen business around the turn of the century. They manufactured the first cartridge pens around 1890, and some sources claim they are responsible for the first all-in-one pen/pencil. In the 1930s they created a seperate branch of cheap pens called Epenco Pen Co. which made pens that even those hit hardest by the Great Depression could afford. In 1965 in recognition that their goods were no longer majorly pencils, Eagle Pencil Co. changed their name to Berol, after their founder Daniel Berolzheimer.
