Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen with an aerometric filing system.
Product Name Parker 17 Super (this is the hooded nib version, as opposed to the open nib Duofold version)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England – this model was mad from 1964 to '72.
Length This is the large size -- 5-3/8 inches.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler, just like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s.
Color Black with gold plated trim, a wide 11/32" cap band, and a black jewel and gold plated tassie ring on either end. Short arrow clip.
Nib BROAD gold hooded or "enclosed" nib is smooth with nice tipping material. It was quite bent when we got it, but we straightened the tines and aligned them so that it feels smooth, and we tested it to make sure the ink flow is good.
Condition Very nice condition. There's light scratches and handwear, and a mark on the lower barrel from posting the cap. There are just small spots of brassing on the lower edge of the cap band and on the rest of the trim's edges and ridges. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. It's working well.
