Product Description
Type | Fountain pen and matching pencil in an extremely hard to find color |
Product Name | Parker 51 Aerometric |
Manufacturer and Year |
Parker - 1948 (8 with no dots on the pen, indicating last quarter 1948. The pencil is dated 1949.) |
Length | Full size pen - 5 7/16" and the pencil is just a little shorter. |
Filling System | Aerometric squeeze filling system. |
Color | The color is Plum, one of the more uncommon Parker 51 colors. Stainless steel cap with an arrow clip. Pearlescent cap jewel. We struggled to get the color accurately in our photos, but it is very dark and hard to photograph. We know Parker 51s pretty well, and we have no doubts about the color. |
Nib | The gold nib is medium and writes nicely. It looks like it is in excellent condition with hardly any wear. |
Condition |
Excellent, with no blemishes or scratches. No personalization. Overall extremely shiny. No cracks or chips or bite marks. The cap is also excellent, with no dents or scratches. The only flaw is a small nick on the tip of the hood, which can be seen in the nib close-up photo. There's some roughness of the stainless steel plating on the filling system. The pencil does not look like it has ever been used, the eraser is like new. |
