Product Description
Type Vintage Aerometric filling fountain pen.
Product Name New Standard Duofold. We don't really know the difference between the Standard and the New Standard but since this is a later version, we are going with New Standard.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- 1952 (The date code on the barrel is a 2 and English Duofolds officially adopted aerometric systems in 1953 but the Duofold Standard was discontinued in 1961. The nib also has an N on it which up until the mid 1950s identified the pen as made in Newhaven).
Length New Standard size, about 5-1/8 inches long.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've tested it and it's working well.
Color Blue with gold plated trim and a blue cap jewel. 1/8" wide cap band with a chevron pattern (which looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\).
Nib BROAD open nib is marked Parker Duofold 14k Pen N. The N means it was made in Newhaven. It writes very smoothly with lots of tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has handwear and the barrel imprint is a bit worn. There is a bit of warping on the barrel from posting and capping. There are a few marks on the trim and a little plating wear. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization. It's working very well.
