Product Description
Type Fountain pen with aerometric filing system.
Product Name Senior Duofold
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- 1953-8 (We couldn't make out a date code on the barrel and there wasn't one on the nib, but the English Duofolds adopted aerometric systems in 1953 and the Duofold Senior was discontinued in 1958).
Length 5-9/16 inches.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like that of the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've cleaned and tested it and it's working very well.
Color Blue cap and barrel with gold plated trim. Thin size cap band with a chevron pattern (it looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\). It has a blue cap jewel that matches the rest of the pen. The blue is darker in hand than it looks in the photos.
Nib BROAD 14k nib is marked 35. The 35 indicates that it's a nib that goes on a Duofold Senior. It's smooth and fairly firm with great tipping material. It looks more like a modern medium than broad but is definitely broader than most of the pens from this era that we call medium.
Condition Superior condition. It has low handweawr and a clear imprint. It has very little plating wear around the arrowhead of the clip. While used, this pen has clearly been well taken care of. The details of the arrow clip and cap band are crisp. No cracks, chips, dents, or scratches. It's working very well.
