Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic-filling fountain pen.
Product Name Vacumatic Major.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in Canada – circa 1953 (the barrel is marked 53).
Length 130mm.
Filling System Standard plastic style vacumatic filler. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and thoroughly tested the pen. It's working well.
Color Laminated Burgundy Pearl with gold plated trim, a split arrow clip, and a "chevron" style cap band. This color was made only in Canada.
Nib MEDIUM gold Parker arrow style nib made in USA. It's smooth and somewhat firm, with lovely tipping material. There's a few light tool marks or scratches on the top of the nib around the "Parker" imprint, but of course it does not have an effect on the pen's writing.
Condition Very nice condition. The cap fits very well, but over the years the cap's clear rings have contracted just slightly so that you can feel the ringed pattern. There's some wear and dullness on the cap, and a small gouge is in the barrel (see photos). There are some tool marks on the section, brassing on the cap band, and spots of it on the clip and tassie-ring. No cracks, chips, or personalization. The imprint is fairly worn, but you can still make out parts of what it says (see photos). You can see through the barrel a bit, but it's not great clarity. Fully restored and working well.
