Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic filling fountain pen and mechanical pencil set.
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Standard, a full length model.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA - 1937 or earlier. The nib has a date code of 8, which indicates it was made in 1938.
Length Pen is 5-1/8 inches (Standard size). This model is fatter than the later single jewel Vacumatics. The pencil is 5-1/16".
Filling System Vacumatic lockdown filler. We've restored it and it's working very well. Pencil takes .046" leads and uses a traditional twist mechanism.
Color Grey pearl body and cap with chrome plated trim, triple thin cap bands, and the Art Deco Arrow clip.
Nib FINE gold two tone arrow nib. The date code is from 1938, so this may be a replacement nib, or perhaps the pen was assembled in 1938 using some parts from the previous year.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. There are some light marks on the cap and barrel and some plating wear here and there on the trim, with brassing on the cap band rings and the band around the jewel on the barrel and on the end cone of the pencil. The barrel clarity is good though there is some discoloration on the barrel (not uncommon). The imprint is clear. The filling system of the pen has been fully restored and both writing instruments are working well.
