Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Vacumatic Debutante (this is the smallest size of vacumatic). It differs from sub-debs in that the jewels are striped (well, one is in this case), the clip had a Blue Diamond, and the nibs were two-toned, indicating the Debutante is an upscale model.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1940 (the 0. date code is clear on the barrel).
Length 4-11/16 inches.
Filling System Vacumatic Speedline filler. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working very well. We'll include a handout on the use of this filling system.
Color Grey pearl color with chrome plated trim, a medium width cap band, blue diamond clip, and a jewel on either end (the barrel jewel appears to have discolored to a black rather than the striped grey pearl color.
Nib MEDIUM gold two-tone Parker Arrow style nib is smooth and firm with lovley tipping material. The masking is only slightly wearing, which has no effect on its writing.
Condition Excellent condition except for some brassing on the tip of the clip, very light plating wear on the rest of the trim, chipping blue-diamond paint, and some small scratches and marks on the cap and barrel. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The barrel clarity is lovely, and the imprint is quite clear. The pen has been fully restored and is working very well.
