Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen, working well.
Product Name Model PK30 Black. P/PK30 indicates cartridge/converter while M/MK30 refers to the piston filler with the same design. The PK pens were remakes of earlier P pens. The original P models were piston fillers and the PK's were all cartridge/converter fillers.
Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, made in Germany -- Late 1960s-early 70s..
Length 5-5/16 inches.
Filling System It takes Pelikan and most international cartridges. It also takes Pelikan converters and some international converters. Pelikan pens tend to be picky with converters. We did manage to find a converter that fits.
Color Black cap, section, and barrel with blue viewing window and gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM with a left oblique cut -- 14k gold nib. It's smooth and springy with nice tipping. Not much line variation, despite the cut. We can't see the hallmark but it matches 14k nibs from other models. As far as we could tell the PK30 came with gold nibs and steel nibs, and not with a gold plated steel nib, so we are confident this is gold.
Condition Superior condition with no noticeable handwear. No scratches, chips, cracks, or dents. There's a few marks on the cap band. We've cleaned and tested the pen and it's working very well.
