Quick Overview

Sheaffer snorkel "Statesman" from 1952-5. The snorkel tube is one of the hard to find 14k gold ones. This full size pen has a burgundy body and cap with gold plated trim. Very nice condition, with a steel Triumph nib that is fine and very smooth. We replaced the ink sac, point gasket and O-ring and the snorkel filling systems works well.

Type Like new snorkel fountain pen in working condition, restored. The solid gold snorkel tube is a bit of a rarity.
Product Name Sheaffer Statesman snorkel
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer 1952-5 ...
Length  5-1/2"
Filling System Snorkel filler - working perfectly. We'll send instructions on how to use the snorkel filling system.
Color Burgundy body and cap. Gold plated trim.
Nib FINE. Triumph nib isn't marked, but we believe it is PdAg (palladium silver) because that's what belongs on this model and we've read that it is not always marked. It is in excellent condition with a lot of tipping material. No flex. Sometimes these nibs are flat, sometimes they arc upward, and sometimes --as is the case with this one -- they angle downward.
Condition Excellent condition with no noticeable scratches and very little wear. Some signs of light very usage. We replaced the O-ring, point gasket and the ink sac, and thoroughly tested the pen. It is ready to write! There are 1/16" long stress cracks originating where the clip attaches at the top, but you have to look with magnification to see them.
