Product Description
Type Like new pen set in a hard to find color.
Product Name Statesman Snorkel. Please note that Sheaffer does not list a Statesman snorkel pen in this periwinkle color in their catalog, so this could either be an uncataloged model (not unheard of in Sheaffer history), or a pen that's had its nib replaced (a two tone nib would have made it a Valiant, or a Sentinel with a different cap).
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer 1952-5
Length 5-5/8"
Filling System Snorkel filling system ... restored here at PSP. We'll send instructions on how to use the filling system. The pencil takes .9mm leads.
Color Periwinkle (which is a light lilac-blue) with gold filled trim.
Nib MEDIUM. M4 PdAg nib. It has a bit of a "Waverly" upturn and like the rest of the pen, is near mint.
Condition Gorgeous, the pen is in beautiful near mint condition with no cracks or scratches. Barely any sign of usage, just one or two marks. The pencil shows more usage, and a scratch on the cap, but the fountain pen is near perfect. We replaced the sac, O-ring and point gasket and thoroughly tested the pen. It is ready to write!
Excellent Sheaffer Snorkel clamshell box!
The value of this pen is largely in the color, but the condition is also a big contributor.
