Product Description
Type Vintage pen which works beautifully.
Product Name Model 5 (This is the later version of the #5 pen, in celluloid).
Manufacturer and Year Waterman -- circa 1940s.
Length 5-1/16".
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well).
Color Black celluloid cap and barrel. The trim is gold plated plated. The plug on the end with the model number is yellow.
Nib The nib is marked "Waterman's Ideal 14k". It is flexible and medium with a good ink flow ... and a lot of tipping material. The plug on the end of the pen indicates this pen originally had a yellow nib, but if you read the description of the yellow nib it's described as having a round point and creating a heavy characteristic line without pressure .... and that just about describes this nib perfectly!
Condition Great condition, really excellent. No cracks or chips. No brassing except on the edges of the clip. The imprints are very crisp and readable.
The filling system is working well, and we'll guarantee it for a year.
