Product Description
Type Hard to find Vacumatic filling fountain pen.
Product Name Imperial Vacumatic, Major size
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in Canada -- 1944. The barrel imprints are clear but we can't see the imprint on the pen's nib.
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Speedline Vacumatic filling system. We have fully restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working perfectly.
Color Brown striated with 14k gold filled cap and trim. Black cap jewel. Wavy line pattern on cap.
Nib FINE gold Vacumatic style Parker nib. It's smooth with excellent tipping, no flex. Some of the masking has been polished away.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen's cap shows some light handwear, but no dents, dings, or scratches. No cracks or chips in the plastic. The barrel looks great with excellent transparency. Both jewels look great. The tassie on the blind cap has some brassing. The barrel imprint is slightly worn, but still readable. Fully restored and working well.
Note that in the US, the blind cap was produced without a jewel-tassie from 1942 onward due to wartime metal shortages, and instead had a plain rounded end. We don't have comprehensive information on Canadian production, so this blind cap may be correct for a Canada-produced pen. The pen came to us without the jewel-tassie blind cap and instead had a rounded blind cap, and we will also include that with the pen (it's got a few bite marks).
