Product Description
Type dip pen holder with nib
Product Name Model name unknown
Manufacturer and Year USA -- Late 1800s or early 1900s. The holder is unmarked.
Length 6-3/16" with nib installed.
Filling System Dip pen and holder with no ink reservoir. You dip the nib into ink and write.
Color Translucent pearl colored handle. It tapers towards the end and has a patterned gold filled gripping portion.
Nib Extra Fine flexible gold nib, not marked but probably 14k. As is frequently the case with dip pen nibs, it has no tipped material. We pulled the nib but there were no marks whatsoever. See the writing sample below. We used dip pen ink for the sample.
Condition Excellent + condition. The handle looks great with no chips. There is a mark near the gold filled gripping portion. The underside of the nib holder is partially brassed. It ships in a long cushioned case with an old handwritten note in it. Unlike the latched cases we see more often, this stays closed without a latch.
