Condition Excellent condition. There is a small (~1mm) flake near the top of the cap, which you can see in the first picture. It's not obvious unless you know to look for it, as it just looks like other dark spots where the red urushi has been intentionally polished away. The rest of the finish is quite nice - some microscratching, but still a durable urushi lacquer surface. It's a lovely pen, packaged in an Edison box.
Note that although urushi is very durable, and can last for hundreds of years, it's not impervious. Care should be taken to store the pen away from sunlight or heat, both of which can weaken the finish. Everyday use is fine, but don't put the pen on your windowsill or leave it in the car.
