Product Description
Type Fountain pen set in excellent condition
Product Name Skyline
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, USA -- 1940s.
Length The fountain pen and pencil both measure 5-5/16".
Filling System The fountain pen has a lever filling system. We replaced the sac and it's working well. The pencil has a clicker mechanism to extend and retract the leads. It takes 0.9 mm leads.
Color Green barrel and section, with gold-plated derby. The cap, or cap equivalent for the pencil, is green/black striated celluloid. Both pieces have a 3/16" cap band which is fairly uncommon. The trim is gold filled.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib. It's got nice tipping and feels smooth. It is a little bit springy, but no line variation.
Condition Excellent condition. The cap band on the pen is somewhat worn and has some brassing, as seen in the pictures below. Clips for both pen and pencil are firmly in place, no wiggling. The pencil cone is imprinted with "Thin Lead", and the tip dents inward, not quite blocking the opening however the lead extends properly. The celluloid for the pencil has ambered a bit and is closer to a golden brown than green; it's actually a lovely combination with the dark green barrel. All imprints can be read. The fountain pen is fully restored and working well.
