Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in working order.
Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1950s (We couldn't find a date code and based off of the cap information the pen is from the early 1950s).
Length 5-7/16".
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system. It is working well.
Color Burgundy with a stainless steel "Lustraloy" cap and a 1-1/2" arrow clip. Pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib Medium 14k gold nib. It writes smoothly and has large tipping material. The tipping has a flat area to it (probably caused by an upright writing angle) and so we spent some time smoothing it so that it would write well for most users, and the nib writes like a narrow medium.
Condition Excellent + condition. No dents or cracks. The color of the barrel is consistent and there are no major scratches. The cap has some finish wear including a clear band in line with the contact point of the clip. There are some stress marks on the end of the barrel and posting marks from the cap. The cap jewel has a lot of crackling and bumps, and is rough in texture, but it doesn't have any main scratches. The trim has held up well. The pen is working very well.
