Product Description
Type Fountain pen with aerometric filing system.
Product Name Senior Duofold
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- circa 1959. (The date code on the nib is for 1949 or 1959. We know it's from the 1950s because the English Duofolds didn't adopt aerometric systems before 1953 but the Senior model was discontinued in 1958)
Length 5-9/16 inches.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like that of the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've cleaned and tested it and it's working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim. Thin size cap band with a chevron pattern (it looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\).
Nib FINE 14k nib is marked 35. The 35 indicates that it's a nib that goes on a Duofold Senior. It's fairly firm and smooth with great tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition. There is a small amount of brassing on the tassie but the cap jewel looks great. The details of the arrow clip and cap band are crisp. There's a fair amount of handwear but no cracks or chips, dings, or dents, or personalization. The imprint is legible and clear though we couldn't find a date code. There's a small chip in the barrel around where the date code should be. The pen looks very clean and nice. It's working very well.
