Product Description
Type | Very small ring-top version of the Parker Jack Knife Safety Pen, with a wave pattern. Mathcing mechanical pencil. |
Product Name | In the Lambrou book a similar pen is just identified as a Jack Knife Safety Pen in vest pocket size. It could be a model 20 1/2 though it is not marked. The marks say "Parker Fountain Pen - Gold Filled Patented" on the edge of the cap. |
Manufacturer and Year | Parker Pen, USA, 1920s |
Length | 3-5/16" (8.4 cm) for the pen, the pencil is a bit longer |
Filling System |
Button filler. The filling system works great. The section unscrews easily, so we were able to replace the bladder. The pencil takes 1.1mm leads. We were able to installl the lead and get it to advance, but we're not sure the pencil is working perfectly. |
Color | Gold filled top to bottom, even the section is gold filled. This is the wave version of gold filled, so you have panels of that pattern alternating with lines. |
Nib | Flexible 14k nib marked "Parker Lucky Curve Pen" -- fine or medium-fine. Excellent condition with lots of tipping material. We consider this nib full flex. |
Condition |
Fountain pen: Wonderful condition, just like new! No dents, no engraving. No brassing, only extremely light handwear. Mechanical pencil: Though the plating is just as nice and relatively unworn as the fountain pen, tjhe pencil does have two dents. (See photos) |
