Product Description
Type Vac filling vintage fountain pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA -- 1945 (The date code on the barrel is a clear 5 with one dot)
Length 5-1/8", this is the standard size.
Filling System Vacumatic plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is in excellent working condition. The bladder has been replaced and the pen has been tested. It has the late-era plastic plunger.
Color Laminated Grey Pearl body with alternating bands of amber and a gray gradient. It has a black cap jewel and an approximately 1/8" chevron patterned cap band. The trim is nickel plated to match the Grey Pearl and is the only Vacumatic to have nickel plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib has a bit of give and is a smooth writer.
Condition Excellent + condition. The blind cap just barely doesn't sit perfectly flush to the barrel and there are few microscratches on the blind cap. The barrel has capping marks. There is plating wear on the trim, but it's not too bad considering how poorly nickel plating usually holds up. The barrel and cap have ambered and are an almost taupe color. The imprint is clear and the barrel transparency is tempered by heavy ambering.
