Product Description
Type Fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Oversize (identified by fat girth, length -- 5-3/8" -- and lockdown filling system)
Manufacturer and Year Parker - 1936 (The imprint doesn't seem to be there on the barrel, even though the rest of the imprint is good and readable. There is a 16 imprint on the pencil, so we're calling the set 1936.)
Length 5-3/8 inches ("Oversize" model).
Filling System Vacumatic lockdown filler is in excellent working condition. The filling system has been restored by us with a new diaphragm, and it has been tested. (We will guarantee the filling system for one year from purchase.)
Color Grey body and cap with nickel plated trim-- excellent visibility thru the body. Both jewels are grey striped. Arrow aka Deco style clip. Three cap bands.
Nib 14k extra fine firm nib. Lots of tipping material in evidence, the nib looks like new. Two tone nib.
Condition Gorgeous restored condition with no cracks or chips, though there are light signs of use. The cap band plating is worn, as is typical for these. Very shiny with extra good visibility. The 3 striped jewels are in great condition.
We tested the pen with ink and found no leaks. This is a great pen which should be a dependable writer for years and years to come.
Please note: the pencil looks great, but the mechanism to advance the lead does not work. This set is priced based almost completely on the value of the fountain pen.
