Manufacturer and Year Pelikan, Germany. Between 1992 and 1997. (There are three different brown tortoise 400s, and this is the second style from the 1990s. 1950s brown tortoise 400s had vertical feed fins and a different looking nib. The ones made after 1997 had two gold rings on the barrel.)

Color Dark brown cap, almost black, tortoise barrel. Gold trim.
Nib 14k 585 medium nib. It seems a little firm and puts out a nice wet line.
Condition Near mint condition, with only light handwear on the body and cap. Very shiny with no plating wear or brassing. The filling system works very nicely. We fully guarantee this pen.
In Pelikan box, but this box is probably from the 1970s or 1980s.
