Product Description
Type fountain pen
Product Name Platinum PE-1204, sometimes called "Karakusa". This is different than the current Platinum model from their celluloid line called Karakusa.
Manufacturer and Year Platinum, made in Japan -- 1970s or 1980s.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Takes Platinum cartridges and converters. A Platinum converter is installed. (Platinum also makes an adapter that allows people to use international cartridges with full sized pens.)
Color Black with gold plated trim. The cap and barrel have a raised "arabesque" pattern (arabesque means "an ornamental design consisting of intertwined flowing lines").
Nib FINE Platinum 18k gold nib, which gives a much narrower line than a Western fine.
Condition Excellent condition. The cap and barrel have some light marks, but there are no chips in the black surface, or serious scratches. The section has marks from capping. The clip has microscratching and some tiny dings along the edge. The finials have microscratching.
There is a clip tag that came in the box with the pen, but we don't think that it belongs to this pen.
