Product Name Balance 350, as marked on the barrel. Circa 1938, the Balances gained formal names and this one's is "Miss Universe."
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1930s-40s, the flattened ball style clip was introduced in 1934 and used on non-Lifetime pens well into the 1940s.
Length Barely over 4-3/4".
Filling System Lever filling system. A new sac has been installed and it's working well.
Color Jet black with gold plated trim. The cap has a narrow band. The clip is the flattened ball style clip introduced in 1934.
Nib EXTRA FINE Sheaffer's #3 gold nib. It's smooth with nice tipping material, and quite firm.
Condition Ecellenmt condition with handwear so it's not perfectly shiny. There is a cap mark on the barrel from posting. The trim looks great with few marks and a little plating wear on the flattened ball of the clip. The barrel and clip imprints are clear. There are no cracks, or significant scratches, though there is a small chip on the edge of the cap lip. The viewing window is clear. The pen is fully restored and working well.
