Product Name Sheaffer Balance with a Lifetime nib. Circa 1938, pens got model names and this one would be "Sovereign."
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA -- 1941-42, these are the official years the military clip was used but it could be from a bit later.

Filling System Lever filler
Color Black celluloid with gold plated trim. It has a white dot below the clip and the late military clip for Sheaffer Balance models. The cap band is 1/8" wide.
Nib Medium-Fine 14k Lifetime nib. It is mostly firm and two-tone.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a nice-sized, dark and shiny pen. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light to moderate scratching. The lever has some wear, but no brassing. The cap has light to moderate wear. The clip has brassing and small dings (bite marks?) along the front and back. The cap band also has brassing, some plating wear along the edges. The imprints are clear.
