Sheaffer over size Balance Lifetime fountain pen from the 1930s. Green marble, with gold plated trim.  Lever filler.   Very nice condition, with a gold fine Lifetime nib. Second earliest clip, the shorter version of the humped style. Uncommon double band.

Type  Vintage Sheaffer fountain pen

Product Name  This is in the Balance family;  it is the fat oversize Balance version.

Manufacturer and Year  Sheaffer USA, 1930s. This is the second version of the clip called by collectors the long round ball humped, and was only produced for two years startting in 1930-1. Uncommon cap band.

Length  5-9/16"

Filling System  Lever filler - working perfectly

Color  Black and green marble celluloid. Gold plated trim.  Two 1/8" cap bands with etched design.  White dot.  

Nib  14k Fine Lifetime nib is wide.

Condition  Very nice condition.  This is a large, fat, pen in a nice marbled color and in a classic design.  The cap and barrel have moderate scratching.  The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and some heavier scratching to the right of the lever and on the lever itself.  The cap has a crack from the cap lip to the lower cap band.  The clip has plating wear that is quite deep along the top edge.  The imprints are clear.

Domestic US Shipping Policy: For the most part, shipping to US addresses is free and is made via first class mail.

International Shipping PolicyInternational shipping is based on weight, and we give you a choice (depending on country) of first class, first class registered, priority mail or express delivery (only Express Mail provides true tracking). Internatonal shipments valued at over $40 come with free insurance, unless that service is not available for your specific country. Most of our customers opt for the very reasonably priced first class mail method, which can take anywhere from one to four weeks. We are happy to discuss alternatives to the options currently offered during the checkout process, so please contact us if you'd like a quote.

Most countries charge customs fees on shipments from the United States, but this is not something we can estimate and there is no way to pay these fees in advance. It is the responsibility of the customer to anticipate these costs and pay them when they are assessed by your country or postal system.
