Sheaffer Connaisseur 815 Fountain Pen (1991-92) - Herringbone Pattern, C/C, 18k Fine Nib (Excellent, Works Well)

Product Name  The Connaisseur "White Dot" product line. (The creative spelling is all Sheaffer's doing.) This is model 815.

Refills   Takes Sheaffer-style cartridges and converters. A Sheaffer squeeze converter is installed.

Color  Black plastic in a chased-looking herringbone pattern.  Gold plated trim.  White dot above the clip.

Nib FINE 18k nib. 

Condition   Excellent condition. Almost perfect except for two very fine hairline cracks in both top and bottom "dome" pieces (see photos); these look like fine scratches so they are easy to miss. This is a dark black, beautifully chased pen, that is shiny and impressive.  The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and moderate scratching near the end.  The cap is in excellent condition. The end pieces on the cap and barrel have some tiny scratch marks.   The gold bands as well as the cap bands have microscratching.  The clip has pitting on the ball end, and the trim ring on the section shows plating loss due to contact with ink.  The white dot is perfect.  The imprints are clear.
