Product Description
Type Full size gold filled vintage fountain pen in superior working condition
Product Name This is one of the early metal "flat top" pens, often referred to by its #3 nib.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA - late 1920s
Length 5"
Filling System Lever filler - restored and working perfectly
Color Gold filled cap and barrel with a chased design. The chasing is interesting, almost an "interrupted" checkerboard design - one row of squares alternated with a plain row.
Nib Gold #3 nib with excellent flex. We consider this full flex, though not a "wet noodle." See writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition with no dents or scratches aside from some light hand wear. There is a tiny bit of brassing on the ball of the clip, but beyond that the pen looks fantastic. The only detraction is the personalization of "F. E. TITLOW" on the pen's barrel (see pictures below). It has been restored, tested and the filling system is working well.
