Product Description
Type Two piece set (fountain pen and mechanical pencil)
Product Name Silver Imperial. White Dot model.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, USA, 1970s.
Length The pen is 5-3/16", and the pencil 5"
Filling System The fountain pen takes a converter, or works with Sheaffer style cartridges. We will ship the pen with a squeeze converter installed.
The pencil takes 0.9mm leads and extends them via the traditional twist-mechanism.
Color Sterling in a crosshatch diamond pattern, with gold plated trim.
Nib Fine 14k diamond-inlay nib. It is unmarked but seems like a fine to us. Firm and smooth, with excellent tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition, in box. The fountain pen has developed some patina/tarnish marks, which are visible under magnification (and in the photos below). It's not possible to polish off this tarnish, because it is trapped under the thin clear coating that was applied to prevent tarnishing (ironical, right?). In the hand, most of the body looks great, but you do notice the marks on the ends where there's no patterning. No dents or dings, or major scratches. The cross hatch pattern is well-defined. Imprints are clear. The pencil is in similar shape to the pen, with just a bit more of the patina. The clips on both pieces look good, with no plating wear or brassing.
