Product Description
Type Long slender bulb filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Steno or Stenographers Pen, part of the Doric family of sided pens. These pens are very hard to find! Here's a great discussion of this model on FPN.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, made in USA – 1930s.
Length 5-5/8" .... quite long and slender.
Filling System Bulb filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The mechanism is simple -- you unscrew the cap on the end of the barrel, exposing the rubber sac (bulb), place the nib in ink to the usual depth, and squeeze the bulb a few times, allowing it to re-inflate and draw in the ink.
Color Dark green hatched celluloid cap and barrel with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib Fine Eversharp 14k gold nib is smooth and has a bit of give to it, though no real flex or line variation. Marked MN-F on the nib, so it might have been considered a manifold fine. Excellent tipping material, very symmetric. The nib was intended by design to be elongated and really extending out from the section in a notable manner.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks. There are small scratches and marks on the cap and barrel, and there is thin plating on the trim. The pen has been restored and is working very well.
