Product Description
Type Ballpoint Pen
Product Name CF ballpoint in the "Crocodile" pattern.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, France .... probably 1960s or 1970s (Waterman ceased US production in 1957 and continued making CF pens in France into the 1970s).
Length 5-5/16"
Filling System It's a bit of a challenge to find a refill that works, since Waterman no longer makes these refills. These refills have a flared out top. We know the Must De Cartier refills work, though the newer Cartiers are Parker compatible and those refills do not fit these old Watermans. We also found this source in the UK which has compatible refills, and we have installed a new refill in this pen.
Color Sterling silver (hallmarked) in a stepped pattern that appears very textured. Gold clip. Personalized on the top of the clip, "R.J.A.F."
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a slender, shiny pen that has unique stepped patterning. There are small scratches throughout that are difficult to see because of the patterning, and the sterling has tarnished unevenly as the metal is exposed. The cone has heavy microscratching. The clip has moderate microscratching. The clip is personalized on the top piece, "R.J.A.F." Imprints and hallmarks are clear.
