Product Description
Type lever fill fountain pen
Product Name Unknown, the barrel doesn't specify a model and it is very similar to the early Skywriter, the "Capitole" (the French name of the late Capitol) and the Vis-o-Pen.
Manufacturer and Year Aikin Lambert, USA -- 1930s, this is a Waterman-made pen from towards the end of Aikin Lambert.
Length 5-7/8" and slender.
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the bladder and it works very well.
Color Marbled red celluloid with white gold plated trim. We think it's white gold because it doesn't have the pitting nickel plating gets but it does have brassing. Around this time period, white gold was occasionally used for trim so it seems like the correct precious metal used.
Nib FINE steel nib labeled, "Flexible." It does not offer much more than semi-flex and is more springy than anything. The tines curve up a bit to create the point. It has a red and black Waterman ebonite feed.
Condition Excellent condition. The trim is worn on the edges of the clip, lever, and cap band. The pen has a legible imprint and very little handwear. The barrel has many shallow bite marks. The coloring is great and there are no cracks, chips, or dents. It's working very well.
