Product Description
Type Fountain pen with aerometric filling system, gold-filled metal barrel and cap, in excellent working condition.
Product Name Parker 51 Insignia, made in Argentina. Before 1957 this design was called Signet but that name probably predates Argentinian production.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Argentina -- production of the Parker 51 in Argentina began in the late 1950s and continued into the 1980s after the USA stopped making them. There's no date code on this pen.
Length 5-5/16 inches
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler. It's been cleaned and tested and is working well.
Color The body is gold filled with parallel lines in groups of three. The cap is in the converging lines pattern. The nib/feed shell is black plastic. Steel clutch with gold center band. Regular pearlescent jewel in pristine condition.
Nib Fine 14k nib writes very smoothly.
Condition Excellent condition. The sac in the filling system is very clear with very low ink staining but there is a dent on the barrel, photographed below, and other points of plating wear. There is also light scratching. Overall the pen looks very good and the shiny finish hides the wear. Fully cleaned and serviced.
