Product Name Parker Vacumatic Major
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1942 (the date code on the barrel is a clear 2 with three dots.)
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Vacumatic plunger filling system has been restored here at Peyton Street Pens and is working well. This has the late plastic plunger system.
Color Golden Pearl body and cap with gold plated trim. It has alternating brown pearl bands and semi-transparent amber bands. The cap has a black cap jewel and a jeweler's, aka stacked coins, patterned cap band just under 1/4". It has a blue diamond clip.
Nib FINE 14k nib. It is smooth and springy with nice tipping material. The feed has an A on it, which means it is a non-standard feed. The date code is a 47 with one dot.
Condition Excellent condition. The imprint on the barrel is clear. The hardest part to read is actually the number for the date code. There is some plating wear on the edge of the tassie and clip in addition to the bottom of the cap band. The barrel transparency is good though the semi-transparent bands are quite ambered. There are no real scratches, cracks, chips, or dents. It has been personalized on the cap band, "WJP." It's working well.
