Condition Very nice condition, near mint except for a few faint hairline cracks is the plastic. These Sheaffer Balance II models are very prone to cracking from posting and from pulling on the clip. This pen has a short crack to the right of the clip and a perpendicular pair of cracks on the barrel. The barrel cracks are quite long, but do not extend to the barrel threads and would affect writing or the section's connection to the barrel. The trim looks great and the material is consistently semi-transparent. These flaws are not at all easy to see and are easily missed, but we have priced the pen accordingly. The cap lip has no cracks. We've cleaned and tested it and it's working very well.
