Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic filling fountain pen.... hard to find "reticulated" crass hatch patterning in the semi-transparent barrel.
Product Name Vacumatic Sub Debutante (with a Lockdown filling system). The sub deb is shorter and more slender than the regular 1936 junior.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, the barrel is marked Canada but the nib is marked USA – 1936 (The imprint on the barrel is clear, but there is no date code visible on the nib). In the US, this model (with the retiuclated barrel) was only made from 1936 to 1937. We're not sure about Canada.
Length 4-11/16".
Filling System Vacumatic filler, Lockdown style. We've fully restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working well.
Color Black celluloid with a cross hatch pattern visible through the see-through area of the barrel, the so called "reticulated" barrel that makes this pen hard to find. Gold plated trim, two thin cap bands, black jewels (see photos).
Nib EXTRA FINE Parker Pen Made in USA nib is gold. It's smooth with nice tipping and has just a hint of flex to it.
Condition Very nice condition. There's a small crack in the cap lip which stops fast at the first cap band. It's small enough that we do not expect it to spread or be a problem with normal use, but we do not recomend posting this cap. There are some scratches and marks on the cap and barrel. There are some tiny marks and indents on the gold plated trim around the barrel jewel and on the clip, as well as a little brasing on the sides of the clip and on the corners of the arrow tip. No personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
