Type Vintage button filling fountain pen.
Product Name Challenger.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA – 1939 (the barrel has the 9 date code, the nib doesn't have a visible date code).
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Blue marble color with gold plated trim, a 1/8" cap band, a tapered style clip, and black ends.
Nib FINE gold nib marked Parker Pen. It's smooth with nice tipping and some nice mild flexibility to it. It's not what we would call truly flexible.
Condition Excellent condition, despite some plating wear. There's some light scratching on the cap and barrel and some brassing on the sides of the clip. hand wear and microscratching give the body and the cap band a slightly dull look in some places, though the color is quite beautiful and vibrant. No cracks or chips, dings or dents. It's fully restored and working well.
The barrel is engraved "Albert Burckhard" (see photos below).
