Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Commando (it's marked on the barrel). This model was one step down in size from the standard Hundred Year Pen, and otherwise quite similar.
Manufacturer and Year Waterman, made in USA -- early 1940s.
Length 5-1/8".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Brown with gold plated trim and two thin cap bands.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Waterman's Ideal 14k nib is quite large. It's smooth with nice tipping material. It's flexible, with line variation from fine to a nice larger broad with a little pressure. Not full flex, but great for every day writing. See our writing sample below. It's got a few light scratches on the surface, but obviously nothing that affects the writing.
Condition Very nice condition with some minor scratching on the cap and barrel. There are some wear on the cap bands, and one is a little loose. The clip has some scratches at the very tip. The pen has had its barrel end replaced (the original material frequently crystalizes and crumbles away). No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization.
