Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen.
Product Name The Resevo Pen No. 30, as identified by the barrel imprints
Manufacturer and Year A. A. Waterman & Co., USA -- 1903-1905, the twist filler came out in 1903 and AA Waterman left the company in 1905.
Length 5-13/16"
Filling System Twist filler. You twist the knob clockwise and then release the knob to take in ink. You can find a nice explanation about the filling system here. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber pen. It has a silver colored, probably nickel plated, clip.
Nib Medium Flexible #4 A. A. Waterman 14k nib is smooth and has nice line variation. The barrel label identifies the nib as a "No. 50 Med." so we're considering the nib a medium. Normally we would call this nib a fine flexible nib. See the writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The chasing looks perfect and the color is consistent and a dark black. It has very clear imprints. The end of the barrel has some microscratching and the very edge has a few smoothed chips. The clip has a little bit of wear too. The pen has two original stickers. The first is on the cap and states that the clip cost 25 cents. The second is on the barrel and identifies the nib and base pen price. The pen is fully restored and working very well.
