Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Aurora Optima "Primavera" limited edition, this is #5506/7500
Manufacturer and Year Aurora, Italy -- 1998
Length 5"
Filling System Piston filler. It has a viewing window to see ink amounts and utilizes a "hidden reservoir" feature where you can eke out an extra page of writing after turning the piston all the way to the left. It is not an actual reservoir and is just pushing the last of the ink in the barrel into the feed. Tested and working well. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Green Auroloide resin, black end pieces. Gold plated trim.
Nib Stub 18k nib - we believe that this is Aurora's in-house stub nib, and not an aftermarket grind. Aurora nibs generally have a mark on the feed telling us the nib width, and this one lacks that. The nib tipping is slightly flared out from the rest of the nib, which tells us that this is their stub nib, rather than the italic nib.
Condition Excellent + condition with only very light handwear. Under magnification, we see microscratching on the cap and barrel, but in hand the pen looks nearly new. These Optimas are famous for having cracks in the resin at the end of the barrel, and so we gave this pen a thorough test and inspection and found no dents or dings or cracks. A really gorgeous pen. Ships with Primavera box and sleeve, paperwork, and bottle of ink. It looks like it's black ink.
