Product Description
Type pen set
Product Name Unknown but commemorates the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
Manufacturer and Year Unknown manufacture -- Circa 1937, the date of the coronation.
Length Fountain pen: 5-1/8". Mechanical pencil: 4-5/16"
Filling System The fountain pen is a lever filler nd we have not restored it. It has not been tested and we do not know if the sac is good or not. The mechanical pencil takes "thick" or 1.1mm leads and the leads both extend and retract.
Color Both pieces are marbled blue with solid colored cap pieces in red, white, and blue for the British flag. The pencil has a crown on it.
Nib Fine gold plated nib. The nib has not been adjusted and is a bit scratchy. The nib has no tipping material and instead has a folded "tip" which generally requires some adjustments.
Condition Superior condition. The pen and pencil look essentially unused but there is a bit of handwear and some trim wear. Both have two sets of imprints. The first is "Coronation G VI. & E. 1937" on the pencil and "Coronation G.VI and E. 1937" on the pen. The second is "Stewart. Distillers. Dundee." (You see these sets with various advertisers shown.) The box lid is missing but the two pieces are in the original box bottom, recognized via the ribbon that also uses British flag colors.
